Next Destination
Leading the way in mapping for recreational hand-held GPS, Next Destination uses embedded PSMA data to create GPS mapping software that is light-years ahead of the rest. Based in Perth and distributing Magellan hand-held GPS units to all of Australia, they have taken it upon themselves to create Australian mapping perfectly designed for Magellan units and the Australian market.
Listening to what the market wants, they have been able to develop detailed mapping, such as DiscoverAusStreets and Tracks Topo, to provide streets, tracks, trails, topographic map contour lines and thousands of points of interest for all of Australia. They have also incorporated other PSMA users data to provide superior street mapping in their satellite navigation units, particularly in regional areas.
While their mapping initially only ran off Magellan hand-held GPS units, Magellan enhanced their capabilities by creating a program allowing users to connect their Magellan GPS to a computer and view the highly detailed maps on the big screen of a PC. This, of course, expanded the use of the units and mapping, allowing users to view maps, plan routes, replay travelled tracks or watch progress in real time on two or three dimensional maps.
Next Destination will continue to use cutting edge data, such as PSMA data, to lead the way in mapping for Magellan hand-held GPS and sat nav units.
