Land Tenure

Overview

The Land Tenure Dataset consists of more than 1.1 Million classified land parcels from across Australia. This dataset is closely associated with the CadLite product and integrate to provide a comprehensive classification of Land Tenure across Australia.

Land Tenure data can be used to make informed land management decisions, with benefits for government, private sector and the community including:

• Improved management of Native Title, Nature Conservation, Heritage Protection, Defence, and Disaster Management.
• Improved infrastructure planning.
• Extended statistical analysis through the inclusion of Land Tenure data.
• Enhanced property development planning.Detailed Operational and Strategic Planning.
• Identification of land ownership, particularly Crown or Indigenous land.
• Detailed Reserve classifications, including off-shore.

The ABS boundaries theme includes three layers—collector districts, statistical local areas and urban centre localities. The electoral boundaries theme has two layers—Commonwealth electoral boundaries and state/territory electoral boundaries.
